AGAIN!

Oh my gosh....again I went to work with two different shoes! It was the same mismatch I did the other day. Only difference today was I had to work in Global Services. I cannot hide my feet that easily as I run around more. Would this have been a good look walking around with Chief Justice Ginsberg?....my guess is not!

When I discovered it this time, I was waiting for the employee bus. Forget it. I got back in my car and drove home to correct my footwear. Since I need to wear black shoes with whatever uniform I'm wearing for the day, I have many upon many pairs depending on what pants so that the length is correct.

Help me with solutions because this is getting embarassing. Perhaps I'll move only one pair of shoes in each room and in each closet? Gotta be something better than this.

Who is the Solution-Queen? That's right. You need either a marking convention or an ordering convention.

Marking Convention #1: Get a packet of different colored post it notes. Match the shoe pairs and place a different colored post-it inside the shoes of each pair. Remove the post-its to wear that pair, then replace the post-its every time you return the shoes to your closet.

Marking Convention #2: Buy different colored ribbons. Tie matching ribbons around each shoe in a pair.

Organizing Convention #1: At Target or a Dollar Store - buy cheap plastic bins. Discipline yourself to place the shoes each evening into its bin - so random shoes don't mix.

Organizing Convention #2: Ask Charles to built a shoe tree with built-in lighting (think under the kitchen cabinet lighting) so that the shoe selection is brightly lit - illuminating the color differences, as well as heel differences.

My vote for simplicity would be Organizing Convention #1. However, I may get Charley to help me with a great idea I have for a Christmas Craft! (Shhh! No more craft hints!)
